Abstract
Recent advances indicate that microwave-based imaging systems have the potential to be used for head imaging. Such a type of application is specifically important for brain stroke detection. The details of a system built at the University of Queensland are explained with some initial results that prove its potential to be improved for a pre-clinical stage. The technical challenges facing that system and others are explained.
