Abstract :
The explosive use of the Internet-from the advent of the World Wide Web (WWW)-has brought about a lot of Internet applications. The current static and document-oriented WWW, however, is making it difficult to interact with other people through the Internet. Consequently, there have been many efforts to provide humans with ways to interact and collaborate. For our part, we have developed PVET (Personalized Virtual Exhibition Tour) as a testbed for encouraging people to extend their personal knowledge and to collaborate with other people through the Internet. PVET is a Java applet for virtual exhibition purposes on the Internet, and it has been developed as a part of C-MAP (Context-aware Mobile Assistant Project). We hope that people will be able to extend their knowledge and interests in their own personalized virtual exhibition spaces and collaborate with other people who potentially have shared interests
