Abstract :
Microprocessor based, surface peroneal nerve stimulator has been developed. It features three modes of operation regarding the trigger source. In addition to traditional use of foot-switches to trigger the stimulation, a wireless RF link to the crutch mounted push-button enables the patient voluntary control over the timing of the stimulation. Cyclic stimulation is provided for training and muscle restrengthening. The stimulator is small, lightweight, battery operated and easy to use
