Abstract :
In 2008, new president of Korea announce low carbon green growth initiative and strongly drive the policy of climate change and environment. Until now, Korean government try to support R&D investment in this area. However from now on, R&D investment will be much more strengthened by president´s will. Core of low carbon green growth is mitigation of climate change - reduction of green house gas. For successful conduction of this policy, it´s necessary to introduce new energy technology. There is various energy technology such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, hydrogen and fuel cell, nuclear technology etc. And renewable energy technology is major concerning part and related industry is growing rapidly. In this paper, the environment of renewable energy use and R&D in Korea was analysed, and discussed the desirable strategy for renewable energy technology and R&D investment.
