Abstract :
Maintenance of skin health and prevention of pressure ulcers (decubiti) represent a lifelong challenge for persons living with spinal cord injury (SCI). The health risk is increased for an individual who lives in a rural area where it is difficult to access specialists who identify and manage decubiti. Under the auspices of the NIDRR Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC) on Telerehabilitation, a project is underway to develop and evaluate a “clinical pathway”, decision supports, and technologies needed to prevent and manage pressure sores remotely
