Abstract :
HVDC Light has so much outstanding performance that it has been highly appreciated by power industry all over the world.After brief introduction and analysis to the principle and technique characteristics, the control modes and control system of HVDC Light, a discussion about applying HVDC Light to CSG is presented in this paper. Two models in EMTDC are proposed which illustrate the potential application of HVDC Light in CSG. The simulation results show that HVDC Light can improve effectively the transient stability of the AC system and MIDC system due to its contribution to supporting voltage, damping of the power oscillations.
