Abstract
Electrokinetic behavior of intact wet bone tissue at room temperature was studied through streaming potentials. Chemical treatments examined the contribution of the organic and inorganic constituents of bone to streaming potentials. Results indicate that the organic matrix phase (collagen) dominates the streaming potential developed in intact bone. Streaming potential behavior during high pressures deviates from the linear relationship established at low pressure.<>
