Abstract :
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) is actively pursuing the development and demonstration of TravelGuide, a low cost, portable traveller information system intended to provide drivers with route guidance advice and transit users with real-time transit information. A brief overview of route guidance concepts, is provided, TravelGuide capabilities are outlined and the TravelGuide demonstration project about to be undertaken in Metropolitan Toronto is described.
