Abstract :
The landscape of patient simulation is in constant flux. Healthcare providers are constantly looking for platforms that allow them the flexibility to perform simulations that have high fidelity, yet are not cumbersome to operate. This often comes at odds with the mannequins available, which tend to have complex interfaces and computer systems which can be difficult to operate. Likewise, it is not uncommon for each type of simulator to come with its own interface and scripting, which adds an additional layer of complexity on to running a simulation center. Recent advances in computer and web-based technology, however, are poised to change the landscape of patient simulation as we know it. We hereby present a novel web-based platform for computer-based patient simulation known as Müse©, designed to be lightweight, user friendly, and conducive to running complex simulations.
