Abstract :
This paper focuses attention on how managers can put in place a framework for reducing organizational vulnerability through counteracting cyber threats. Attention is focused on how senior managers can devise a resilience strategy that incorporates counter intelligence and places risk in a manageable context. Reference is made to placing cyber security in context, and a Cyber Security SLEPT analysis and a Cyber Security SWOT analysis are highlighted. Reference is also made to developing a security culture, which is underpinned by a strategic intelligence focus. A case is made for adopting the organizational learning approach and a way forward vis-à-vis a strategic approach to security is outlined. It is evident from the paper that in order for senior managers to reduce the potential threat from cyber security, they need to work closely with partner organizations and government representatives.
