Abstract :
This research investigates the inspection process of a Stainless Steel Furniture Factory. There are an increasing number of customer complaints due to lack of standard and inconsistency of inspection, especially for the key processes. The new inspection plans are designed for those processes to overcome this issue. Based on Military Standard 105E (MIL-STD-105E), two acceptance sampling plans are proposed using the single sampling plan at AQLs 1.0 and 1.5. However, the inspection results are verified by 100% inspection with respect to their reliability and inspection time and cost. In conclusion, the acceptance sampling plan at AQL 1.0 is selected for cutting, drilling, and welding processes while the 100% inspection is used for chemical, assembly and finishing processes because of small lot size and vital processes. This approach can ensure that only good quality products will be delivered to the customer and the result shows that the customer complaints has decreased by 51.69%.
