Abstract :
The parallel operation of modular power factor correction circuits is illustrated. The modular units are operated at a constant frequency to alleviate the problem of electromagnetic interference, at discontinuous-current-mode to obtain good current sharing, and with a phase-shift to have a smaller ripple in the input current. The prototype circuit consists of 15 modular units, which are required to supply the attempted power rating of 3.75 kVA
