Abstract :
Current decade has witnessed a rapid growth in ecommerce and related activities. Web recommendation systems are widely used in e-commerce applications for recommending products to the users. In the current scenario selection of any product depends on multiple criteria, hence it has become a problem of multi criteria decision making. The problem is also reflected in the context of recommendation systems as they are used to decide which product has to be recommended out of several available products. In this paper a problem of multi criteria decision making in the context of web recommendation system has been modeled using a fuzzy approach In real life, most of the important criteria of products have been expressed in linguistic manner. A fuzzy approach is relevant and useful in terms of quantification of linguistic variables. The paper presents a model, using fuzzy approach for multi criteria decision making for web recommendation system.
