Abstract :
The characteristics and typical scheme designs of distribution automation system (DAS) of northeast rural county cities of China are presented after intercommunion with many electric power corporations and making designs for them. The DASs are intended to increase the reliability of power supply after reforms of the distribution network. The "local control type" with upgrade capability to "central control type" is chosen in benefit of inexpensiveness and simpleness. The function requirements include fault determination, isolation and restoration of healthy area for hand-by-hand lines and radial lines. About the characteristics, electric switches of voltage-time type are mainly adopted; the uniform specification of installment and setting of reclosers is provided, such as installing a recloser at the original end of each feeder line and resetting existing reclosers; typical modes of tie switches are presented; the simple communication methods and high performance devices are adopted for the severe winters of northeast areas.
