Abstract
A new approach of implementing stepped-impedance hairpin lowpass filters is presented. The filters realize finite-frequency transmission zeros located within close proximity to the passband edge leading to highly selective filters with low insertion loss. Several filters were fabricated and tested resulting in very good performance that complied with the presented theory.
