Abstract :
In the first part a review of the principles of existing diagnostic techniques will be presented. In the second part we will present results from laboratory experiments performed in order to characterise cable samples with respect to water tree degradation. The authors compare the results from diagnostic testing with measured AC breakdown strength and microscopy water tree analysis
