Abstract
The present paper discloses a technique to reduce purple fringing artifacts from images, working in the YCrCb domain. This algorithm, which addresses the segment of smart phones and digital cameras, is window based, thus having reduced memory requirements. Purple fringes are corrected in a gradual way, without producing an excessive reduction of saturation.
