Abstract
Ferroresonance is the name given to the situation where the nonlinear magnetic properties of iron interact with capacitance to produce a nonlinear tuned circuit with an unexpected resonant frequency. In this tutorial the author looks at the factors involved in ferroresonance, and then reviews a few cases experienced in the course of his career. The author looks at the properties of coils with magnetic cores, series resonance, and ferroresonance in practice
