Abstract
The authors present an approach to the performance evaluation for stochastic discrete event systems. There are two steps in the approach. In the first step the smoothed perturbation analysis (or another applicable technique) to obtain the Taylor coefficients of the performance measure of concern. In the second step the Pade approximation technique is used to evaluate the performance measure. The approach is illustrated with a simple queuing example
