Abstract :
Hands-free VoIP applications are more and more popular in consumer electronics. Telephony is no longer monopolized by telephones and mobile phones, but it starts to conquer the TV market as well. However, hands-free communication in the combination with environments in which TV receivers are typically used, introduces a lot of problems such as the existence of acoustic echo, presence of significant ambient noise that effects the decrease in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Besides the acoustic difficulties, implementing such algorithm to an embedded platform introduces a number of new challenges. These problems and their proposed solutions are presented in this paper.
