Abstract
Minimizing blind zones and providing stable wireless communications are serious concerns in setting up wireless LAN access systems along meandering passages in buildings and underground facilities. To solve the problem, we have developed a dual band long leaky coaxial cable for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Experiments conducted with meandering cable configuration show that communications over distances of more than 100 m at maximum transmission rates of more than 10 Mbps for IEEE802.11a and IEEE802.11g are available. We confirmed that this leaky coaxial cable is beneficial for dual-band operation with faster and wider communication for indoor use.
