Abstract :
This paper offers a program to improve the efficiency and accuracy of insulation coordination calculation for UHVDC converter stations. The program is based on the VBA of Excel. It has the functions of selecting arresters scheme, modifying and saving the parameters, inquiring about and adding the arrester characteristics curves and so on. It is applied to calculate the insulation coordination levels in the Xiangjiaba-Shanghai UHVDC system. The program is proved to be accurate, fast, and convenient, and can be applied well for UHVDC converter stations.
