Abstract :
It presents an investigation, through a bibliographical research, about the information systems, the tools and the methods of organizational intelligence, with sights to its application in maintenance environments as instruments to ldquoempowerrdquo the management of this important function, inside productive processes. In this direction, the maintenance concepts are initially approached, as its gradual increasing relevance is argued. After that, the concepts of organizational intelligence and its cycle are explored. In addiction are examined the importance and relationship among information and maintenance environments, the main applicable types of information systems to this function and, finally, as a contribution and one of the main pointed out results gotten in the research, are presented subsidies to recommend an organizational intelligence conceptual model, applied on plant maintenance.
