Abstract
This paper presents a summary of the new standard to be published by the IEEE, ATLAS2K, which is the next issue of the IEEE Std. 716-1995 C/ATLAS. This revision represents a radical departure from the previous issues, in that it no longer simply represents a language per se, but also provides a framework for component libraries of signal descriptions that can be readily deployed in an Automatic Test System (ATS) with other standards such as the IVI Signal Interface from the IVI Foundation
