Abstract
Summary form only given. Spin-off from research labs is in most cases based on the exploitation of a specific technology or product. Creative Services has its origin in the idea of selling the knowledge and experience of experimental physicists. The company was formed in 1995 in the Technoparc Pays de Gex in St. Genis by seven physicists. A large-variety of projects has been accomplished since. The physicists of Creative Services represent the missing link between research and SMEs. With reasonable fees and on a small scale, research experience enters product development and can be exploited reliably. One difficulty lies in finding the right entry into an environment which is unaccustomed to the language of scientists and vice versa
