Abstract :
In system designs, it has become critical for memory speeds to keep pace with the ever increasing microprocessor clock rates. This paper explains the need for high speed memory (especially EPROMs), outlines the general principle of Burst Mode access, briefly describes the 1 Megabit Burst Mode EPROM (Am27HB010) from AMD and discusses some applications and system timing requirements.
