Abstract :
The application of computer simulation in the textile industry is discussed. A case study in which a simulation model of total operations was developed for an industrial belt manufacturing company in order to improve the scheduling process and to respond more quickly to order changes, is presented. The model proved to be very valuable on both accounts. The model consists of eight modules including initialization, scheduling, weaving, burling, pinseaming, needling, finishing, and inspecting packaging.<>
