  • Abstract
This paper proposes a dynamic scheduling scheme based on queue length threshold of lower priority traffic for a token-passing protocol in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) network. Based on a semi-Markov process, the behavior of the proposed scheme is modeled. The performance of the network is studied in terms of average delay, blocking probability and network throughput. The analytical results are validated through simulations. To observe the impact of the proposed scheme, it is compared with the static scheduling scheme by means of two new quality of service (QoS) parameters
