Abstract
Trade associations and national governments can be effective conduits in penetrating international markets. Specifically, activities sponsored by these organizations, such as trade missions, exhibitions, standards meetings and technical symposia are excellent opportunities for meeting prospective customers. Additionally, industry leaders and government officials can be accessed through trade association and government sponsorship. This paper will review the opportunities for international marketing presented through trade association and government sponsorship.
