Abstract :
For pt.I see `Analysis of controlled dynamical systems´ (Ed. Bonnard, Bride, Gauthier, Kupka, Birkhauser, 1991). In that part the authors presented a geometric theory for the time-optimal control of batch reactors. In this part they compute the conjugate points for singular trajectories arising in the time-optimal control of a batch reactor in which three species A, B, C are reacting according to the scheme A→B→C and every reaction in the sequence obeys first-order kinetics, the control being dT/dt, where T is the temperature in the reactor
