Abstract :
The zeolite was used to treat the groundwater. The various solutions with initial manganese (Mn2+) concentration ranging from 0.5 to 1.5mg/L were prepared in this study. The nature zeolite has cation-exchange capacity and higher absorption capacity for Mn2+ from ground water with 1.89 and 2.69 mg/g at 288 and 298K. Adsorption date were well described by the Langmuir model and the thermodynamic constants of the adsorption process : free energy (ΔG0), enthalpy (ΔH0) AS andentropy (ΔS0) were evaluated, respectively. The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were applied to the test experimental data. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model provided the best correlation of the experimental data compared to the pseudo-first-order.
