Abstract :
Dynamics of two-state-lasing in quantum-dot lasers is theoretically investigated in this study. To observe the two-state lasing phenomenon, the total optical loss is assumed close to the saturation gain of quantum-dot ground states. Our simulation results show that the onset of excited-state lasing prior to ground-state lasing in the transient responses. This phenomenon is dramatically different from the static two-state lasing behavior in quantum-dot lasers
