Abstract
The possibility of looperless rolling in the finishing mill of a hot rolling process is shown. It is clear that the performance of a control system with the compensator designed by μ synthesis considering parameter perturbation is better than that with the compensator designed by H∞. In order to realize looperless rolling, we must consider the effect of noise of the measured variable and the way to reduce the order of compensator
