Abstract
A three dimensional numerical model for electron transport in Quantum Dot Photodetector has been developed and presented in this paper. The effect of optical illumination on the characteristics of the quantum dot infrared photodetector has been examined under dark and illuminated conditions. The electric field and space charge distributions have been determined to obtain electron dynamics. The model accounts for potential distribution and features of the electron capture and transport in realistic quantum dot photodetector
