Abstract :
The field of software engineering is currently undergoing a rapid evolution (paradigm shift) toward the notion of component assembly and integration (“component-oriented programming”). On the other hand, the MVC (Model-View-Control) approach to graphical user interfaces (GUIs), pioneered by the Smalltalk language, has recently been exploited by Sun for Java´s Swing GUI application programming interface (API). We propose our particular contribution to an architecture for effective human-machine interaction (HMI) inspired by both of these ways of programming. The specific application on which we are working as a proof-of-concept is a mobile clean-up robot simulator
