Abstract :
We studied both experimentally and theoretically the reflection of light beams propagating in a plane of LC layer from the boundary, which separates the regions of a LC cell with different director orientations and refractive indices. A computer simulation confirmed that the proposed experimental geometry was most suitable to control the intensity of extraordinary rays propagating in the plane of liquid crystal layer. The experimental method and the set-up for electrical control light beams in LC cell were developed
