Abstract :
A system is developed to evaluate the performances of partial discharge (PD) measuring instruments that implement complex analysis functions such as PD pattern classification and identification. In addition to impulse current sequences, the system can reproduce PD patterns, obtained from mathematical model based on the PD mechanism or from experiments. The capabilities of the system are discussed and examples of its application to digital PD measuring instruments are given.
