Abstract
This paper explores the issues involved in providing of an accounting infrastructure for the Internet. It first argues that accounting, absent in the current Internet architecture, is crucial to the success of the Internet in the future. Then it focuses mainly on the design issues involved in such provision. Finally, it provides a possible scheme in implementing such an accounting infrastructure
