Abstract :
Sensor nodes are battery driven and operate on a low energy budget, so every aspect of the sensor node design and operation needs to be energy-aware. We propose the EAAS (energy aware adaptive scheduler), which considers both the power/timing constraints and the mode dependency of the modules within a sensor node while minimizing the energy consumption. Further, EAAS defers the execution of the tasks without any violation of the timing and power constraints, thereby sensor node components are in their deepest sleep mode for most of the time, minimizing both the static and dynamic power consumption.
