Abstract :
Fretting damage behavior of Ni-B and Ni-B-C60 electroless plating deposited on TA7 titanium alloy are studied. The fretting wear resistance of the two coatings is tested and the coating surface morphology is also observed. The results show that the Ni-B-C60 coating has self-lubricated property during the process of fretting wear, indicating lower friction coefficient than that of Ni-B coating. The friction factor of Ni-B coating is about 0.63 while that of Ni-B-C60 nano-composite coating is about 0.53. Therefore, the wear resistance capacity of the Ni-B-C60 self-lubricant composite coating is higher than that of the Ni-B coating.
