Abstract
The paper considers the analysis of oscillations in a switching-mode limit cycle resonant oscillator. The circuit includes an RLC-loop connected serially. The loop is driven by a comparator. The control signal for the comparator is taken from a resistor in the loop. The circuit oscillates at the frequency close to the resonance frequency of the loop. Introducing the electrical momentum, Ldi/dt, one obtains a simple description of the switching processes in this oscillator. An exact expression for the limit cycle can be obtained. This allows finding of the oscillation parameters important in technical applications.
