Abstract :
Dynamic characterization by simulation of switched reluctance motor (SRM) systems and the development of a package for the same is the scope of this paper. The modeling of electromagnetic, control and mechanical concerns is presented in this paper. The time varying parameter, namely the inductance of SRM, which solely determine the dynamic response of the machine, is rigorously evaluated using the finite element analysis package, ANSOFT. Based on this model, a circuit simulation package is designed in the Maxwell SPICE environment using the power of EMSS tool. This can simulate the speed and torque of SRM at any load conditions. Detailed simulation results for various load conditions is the highlight of this report
