Abstract :
We propose to use the Gold sequences as the spreading sequences that have a family of M=N+2 sequences with sequence length of N. They are constructed from any preferred pair of m-sequences and we choose a subset of sequences from the family of Gold sequences such that multiple access interference (MAI) is minimized. Furthermore, a search method based on a genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to find the optimal solution, owing to its powerful search ability. Experimental results showed that the MAI can be greatly reduced after a proper sequence selection
