Abstract :
A concept of distributed RFID System is proposed, which can be agilely integrated into Ubi-Media environment. The system consists of RFID tags, MF RC522 RF based tag-reading/writing module, controlling unit using MSP430 as MCU, communication network between RFID nodes, and backend DBMS. The communication network employs ZigBee WSN to realize the wireless RFID node setting that is wiring free and more allocation flexible. The features of ZigBee and its applying feasibility in the situation are discussed. The system structure and its main modules are briefed. The ZigBee network and its node design are described. The ZigBee node adopts CC2420 as RF chip and ATMEGA128L as MCU. The selectable RFID tags are discussed. Mifare 1 S50 tags are currently used in the experimental system and its reader/writer unit design introduced. The system prototype has been built and tested at a limited scale and its basic functions (simulating a laboratory access controlling) realized. After proper adaptation, the application of this schema could be extended to user identifying, Ubi digital devices powering on/off and media content event driving to support more intelligent Ubi-environment.
