Abstract :
Summary form only given. The millennium is almost here. What are corporate IT professionals doing beyond surviving the Y2k issue? Because of the Y2k issue, resources that would be addressing the needs of the business are have been placed on Y2k tasks to ensure the basic survival of their firms. How one strategically plans the corporations that run service industries providing information technology is crucial to responding to the needs in the millennium. Based on what the Standish Group revealed above, it is evident that IT leaders need to focus on the problems of delivering IT projects in order to reduce costs and to speed the delivery of business goals that projects are expected to deliver. Strategically, this will position firms to meet customer requirements into the millennium
