Abstract :
There is much interest in how to ensure that the results obtained from a simulation model are accurate. The paper considers this from the perspective of three main sources of inaccuracy: the modelling, the data and the experimentation. For each of these sources, the causes of inaccuracy are discussed and some advice is given on how to overcome them. An illustrative model is used to quantify some of the effects of inaccuracies in the data and the experimentation
