Abstract :
Biometric technology is becoming widely used in personal identification system substituting existing conventional methods such as password and passport. This paper presents a personal identification system based on one of the biometric technology which is palmprint recognition. An approach based on the application of unconstrained minimum average correlation energy (UMACE) filter is proposed for palmprint feature extraction and representation. We proposed an automated palmprint recognition system, using digital scanner as an image acquisition device. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system.
