Abstract :
In this paper, a new discrete-time sliding mode controller for the speed loop of induction motor drives is proposed and analyzed. A nonlinear switching surface is used to ensure fast and precise response, with low overshoot. Discrete-time sliding mode existence is guaranteed by the use of a new control law which is able to reduce torque oscillations inherent to usual discrete-time sliding mode design techniques and eliminate steady state speed errors. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm
