Work in progress - the evolution of a new program in engineering technology

The Control Systems Engineering Technology program started admitting students in 1998, and the first graduates of the program were in May 2002. The program offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Control Systems Engineering Technology. This new program is unique in that it is the only one that uses this degree name in the U.S. The objective of the Control Systems Engineering Technology program is to educate the students to be practical and qualified engineering technologists. The program is committed to preparing graduates for productive and rewarding careers in design, marketing, operation and maintenance in the field of instrumentation, measurement, control, robotics, and automation. Graduates will be socially and professionally responsible and possess skills for life-long learning. This work-in-progress paper described the unique features of this new program along with its successes and challenges
