Abstract :
This paper describes a computational tool to deal with transient and long term stability of power systems. The method proposed incorporates the transient and quasi- dynamic characteristics into a unified computational tool. During the transient simulation, the step size varies according to the classical trapezoidal method of integration, whereas bigger steps are taken during the long-term process. The set of equations considered, however, is always the same.
